Step by step: Get blogging from your blower

Keeping a blog is all well and good but frequently the time you have to update it is the same time you’re nowhere near your computer. Fear not, ‘cause blogging from your blower is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

What’s the point?

Keep your blog up to date without touching a computer. You can even send photos to your site from anywhere in the world.

Is it free?

You’ll pay for data, and some blog services, but other than that it’s a gratis way of showering the world with your wild ramblings and snaps.

Sold! How do I do it?

Step 1: Get a blog! If you haven’t already set one up, head to Typepad and set up an account. It’s cheap, extremely reliable and there’s a free 14-day trial so you can see if you like it or not. Once you’ve got a username and password pick up your mobile and fire up Lifeblog from your phone’s Applications folder.

Step 2: You’ll see Lifeblog has organised all your texts and pictures in a grid. Tap ‘Options’ and ‘Post to web’ on one of them and Lifeblog will ask if you already have a blog. Hit ‘yes’ and give your phone all the information. You’ll have to tap in a friendly name for your blog, as well as your username and password. Lifeblog already has the server address for Typepad filled in.

Step 3: Save your settings and your phone will start uploading to your blog – it’s as easy as that!

Step 4: If you want to post something that’s not already in your grid go to ‘Options’ and ‘Create’ then choose ‘Text note’ or ‘Sound’. Follow your phone’s instructions, then you’ll see your creation dumped into the grid. Once it’s there you can follow the instructions above to fling it web-ward.

Step 5: Most Nseries handsets have Lifeblog already installed, but if it’s not there or you want to use it on a different phone, you can find it on the web right here. Hooray!
