Software: Handy Weather

In a nutshell…

Smart weather forecasting software for your Nokia. Designed to help you avoid the rain and make the most of the sun, Handy Weather is all about sticking two fingers up at Mother Nature’s nastier mood swings!

Judgement time!

Weather forecasts are a difficult thing to make fun, but Handy Weather manages it with ease. There’re cutesy graphics, timeline graphs to see changes over the coming days and more meteorological detail than Michael Fish’s scrapbook.

You’re not limited to one forecast either. Build up a list of cities you visit often (or just want to keep a weather eye on), and you can easily flick between their forecasts. You can even determine your position using GPS if your phone has it.

Forecasts are updated anywhere between every four hours and once a day, depending on your choice, and you can send data on to friends, although you have to use text messages as there’s no option to e-mail forecasts.

There’s every reason to slap down some cash for Handy Weather, except that everything it offers can be had for free elsewhere. [LINK]Worldmate[LINK TO WORLDMATE REVIEW] brings weather forecasts to your handset in a similar style for free, along with useful tools like a currency converter and world clocks.

For that reason alone Handy Weather fails to win a permanent spot on our handsets. Check it out, there’s a free 14 day trial, but beware handing over any cash, no matter how handy you find it.
