Assisted GPS lands for the N95 in the latest firmware upgrade. Finally, a reason to run an upgrade.

The first firmware update for the N95 might have sorted out a few niggles, but lets face it, those should never have been there in the first place. The latest version 12 though boasts one feature everyone is clamering for - Assisted GPS. In short, it speeds up the time your 95 takes to latch onto satellites, some say as fast as six seconds. This has been one of the biggest bug bears for our 95s and we’ll be using Satnav a lot more now Nokia’s sorted it right out.

Other tweaks are hardly worth mentioning, but include improvements to the camera and some general speed issues. Tough luck if you’re on a network-branded handset though - the T-Mobile and Orange versions of the upgrade aren’t ready yet, though both are said to be working on them.
