Nokia buys dot com shocker!

In a move not likely to shock anybody really (the headline was a sort of joke), Nokia has tied the knot with media sharing website Twango. That means cool functionality for you and me and a truckfull of cash for the guys who started Twango. Probably.

Is there no stopping the Finnish monolith? Storming through the Internet like Google in a supermarket, Nokia has just added Twango to its string of recent Internet-type acquisitions. Boasting one of the sleekest media sharing platforms on the web, Twango’s services will fit very neatly into Nokia’s seamless-experience vision.

Formed by a couple of ex-Microsofties, the platform might not be as well-known as the ‘please-add-me-to-your-friends’ site Facebook, but the functionality isn’t too dissimilar. It does make sharing your snaps and video a cinch though, which is a good thing and the site looks as good on your blower as it does on your desktop.

There’s no news yet on what kind of changes or improvements we can expect coming up. We’ll give you the lowdown on Twango in the next couple of weeks.
