Looks like things are hotting up for the N-Gage, big style. Word has just reached us that the classic Crash Bandicoot franchise is making a beeline for the revamped mobile gaming platform. Better start limbering up those thumbs now.

While it’s not entirely clear what form the game will take, Nokia’s press release suggests it’ll follow the storyline of the PlayStation original - so we could well be seeing a remake of the brilliant first game, with all the crazy platform-jumping, crate-smashing and evil scientist-thwarting that goes with it. Tasty stuff indeed.

And that’s not the only thing to get excited about. The N-Gage version of Crash Bandicoot will be published by Vivendi - or Vivendi Games Mobile to be precise - which is one of the biggest names in the games business. So don’t be surprised if some more top franchises follow in the footsteps of this loony marsupial, straight onto your Nokia screen.

There’s no word on a release date for the game yet, but we’ll keep you posted when more info spins into view.
