What’s the point?

Grab or view any file from your home computer using just your mobile phone – from anywhere in the world!

Is it free?

As the air you’re breathing!

Sold! How do I do it?

1) Snag SoonR

Download SoonR here. Install it on your PC or Mac and tell it which files or folders you want to access remotely. You’ll also have to set up a username and password, but after that you’re all set. The SoonR Agent software needs to be left running, and your computer needs to stay switched on too, otherwise you won’t be able to access files on the go.

Once it’s set up, tap soonr.com into your mobile’s web browser, enter your username and password and you’ll see a homepage giving access to your files.

2) View it!

SoonR doesn’t just let you download files – it’ll open them for you too. That means you don’t need a PowerPoint viewer on your handset to look at a presentation, just tap into it and hit ‘View’ using SoonR. It’ll open up with playback controls at the top. If you use the Opera Mini browser your presentation will play using Ajax, so it’ll be fast and smooth.

3) Access files – even with your computer switched off!

You can set SoonR to copy files to its own server, so they’re available on your phone even if your home computer is switched off. Just head to the folder you want available offline using SoonR on your mobile. Tap the ‘Store’ button and it’ll be copied to a central server so you can view its contents any time. There’s limited space on the server, so you can’t store everything on your PC, but it’s great for files you use all the time.

4) Share your stuff

Wanna show your friends photos that’re left on your PC? Navigate to the file using SoonR on your phone and tap share – you can enter their e-mail addresses, SoonR usernames or phone numbers and hit share. They’ll be sent an e-mail or text with a link to the file. You can hit ‘Slideshow’ on a whole folder of images, followed by ‘Share’ to send more than one picture as an impressive web presentation.

5) Search for it!

SoonR lets you search you computer for a specific file, but you’ll need to have desktop search software installed. As long as you have Google Desktop, Yahoo, X1 or are running Windows, you’ll be able to tap in a keyword and search through your computer in seconds.
