Now, footie is a tough one to crack on mobile, what with heaps of teensy players scrabbling around a small screen, precise controls and authentic-feeling action being key. But EA Sports is hoping the latest incarnation will do the business.
In typical FIFA fashion there stacks of official squads to pick from (over 100 official teams), but now every player has individual statistics that properly affect how well they perform on the pitch. So, your Ronaldinhos and Rooneys promise to skin shoddier defenders and bang ‘em in more accurately. Plus, players can now sprint, which should add a smidge more spice to the pace of a match.
In-game commentary has also been added, and there’s even a new landscape mode, meaning you can flip your Nok on its side and get a wider view of the action.
