Judgement time…
Share Online 3.0 is a strange piece of software. Made by Nokia, it sits alongside other apps like Podcasting and Sports Tracker – both of which perform tasks too advanced for other developers.
However, Share Online fails to stand out amongst the third party competition. Despite being in its third iteration, Nokia still only supports sharing photos through the Flickr and Vox websites. Compare that to ShoZu’s support for Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, Picasa, Kodak EasyShare and more, and it’s clear Nokia still has work to do.
Where Share Online does outperform its rivals however, is in its integration with the Symbian OS. Where ShoZu, and others like it, piggyback on Nokia’s camera software, Share Online is properly integrated, offering up online destinations without intrusive pop-ups.
If Nokia continue to develop the software, it’s sure to become the default uploader for anyone packing an N-Series. For the time being though, it’s too limited to recommend.
