Cricket in all its 3D glory on your mobile. Beware though, it’s as slow paced as the real thing, so be prepared for a flat battery by the end of a game…
Judgement time…
Cricket’s a strange choice for a mobile game. It’s slow, methodical and with complicated rules. Action-packed thumb-fury this is not.
That doesn’t mean it’s no good, however. The control mechanism in Cricket 3D’s as good as it could be for a small-screen game, using the number pad to direct the ball or player.
Graphically, it’s a mixed bag. While the bulk of the action is indeed 3D, some strange intermediate graphics and odd sound effects leave the game feeling unfinished. What’s more, on a phone with a large screen menus seem blurry and lack polish.
In terms of gameplay, however, Cricket 3D is solid. There’s enough here to keep a cricket fan glued for hours, which incidentally is roughly the time it takes to complete a match. To say Cricket 3D can drag on is like saying the Queen is a bit posh. Still, if you’re a fan of all things willow and leather-based, check it out – you’ll love it.
