Phew, what a snapper!

Packing a delicious 5-megapixel snapper, light-up-the-room Xenon flash, assisted-GPS, HSDPA and one-touch image upload, the all new N82 is a stunning little device.

Now, a quick glance at the specs and you’d might be fooled into thinking this is just a repackaged N95. Those key specs are awfully similar afterall. And in part, you’d be right. But take a look closer and you’ll see this is a phone, sorry, multimedia computer, with plenty of its own merit.

Take a look at that flash for starters. That’ll make a big difference when it comes to shooting decent indoor snaps. The screen too is a different story. 2.4-inches to the original N95‘s 2.6-inches means the N82 is also smaller and lighter than the uber-beast but still packs WiFi and super-fast HSDPA along with that snapper, and GPS.

We haven’t got our hands on the new device yet, but expect it to work and feel just as good as it looks.

See, Nokia has a grand plan. When the N95 landed there was nothing out there quite like it. But look around now, particularly in Nokia’s own camp and there are already three (four if you count the N81 8GB) devices cut from the same mechanical cloth.

Ultimately, Nokia wants the ‘multimedia computer’ to take over the job of the phone. For every handheld device to sport a stonking snapper, GPS, killer gaming abilities and plenty of storage on board. Then, the grand plan will come good.

Meanwhile though, just who is the N82 aimed at? With such a tasty-looking finish and slender size, could this be the N95 for girls who prefer brain over brawn?
