So you really want an N810, but you’re not convinced you can make it do enough to justify it (yes, using it solely a Sofa-Surfer is a little extravagant). Fear not, young Nok Brethren, for the clever bods at ACCESS have the answer. In a search to find a use for the 30,000+ applications kicking around for Palm OS, ACCESS created the Garnet VM, enabling Nokia Nseries users to run Garnet OS (the new name for Palm OS) apps.
Clever stuff indeed, stuffing as it does all sorts of handheld wonderment into our favourite Internet Tablet. Usefullness comes in the form of things like Google Maps, Snappermail and DateBk5 (such twee names!). With top games such as Bejeweled, PacMan and, erm, Sudoku, you can keep yourself entertained when you’re neither working or surfing the Internet for gentleman’s relish. Bundled apps include Address, Date Book, Memo Pad and Calculator. Which are really, really useful! Not.
Anyway. We think this could be kind of cool as it’s bound to drive a little competitive spirit in the Open Source brigade, making the future of the N810 even rosier than it is now.
