Grab Nokia Music Store, give it a shake, and see the hidden features fall out, just itching to enrich your musical life!
Is it free?
Knowledge? Free? Absolutely!
Sold! How do I do it?
1. Get a new phone!
Nokia Music Store will work fine on your PC, and purchased tracks will sit pretty on most non-Apple MP3 players, but to get the most out of it you’ll want a new blower. The N95 8GB or N81 8GB are the best bets at the moment, with bags of space for songs and downloads wherever you are via Wi-Fi or your phone network.
2. Use Wi-Fi
Once you’ve got a new phone you’ll want to download tracks to it. Follow the instructions on Nokia Music Store, but use a Wi-Fi Hotspot wherever possible – it’ll make for a much speedier experience and less hassle all round.
3. Preview play
Every song on Nokia’s store has a 30 second clip that’s free to hear. Not sure you’ve found the track you’re looking for? Hit the orange button with ‘30’ on it and you’ll soon find out for sure.
4. Make a wishlist
Nokia’s store lets you make a wishlist, whether you’re accessing it through a mobile or a PC. Just tap the heart logo next to a track you’d like and it’ll be added. Don’t worry, you won’t be charged until you actually download it. Edit your wishlist at any time though a PC, just by clicking ‘Wishlist’ at the top of the screen once you’re logged in.
5. Stream genie
This feature is genius – pay a low fee of £8 per month and the Nokia’s Music Store will let you listen to any tracks you like, in their entirety, as often as you like! The catch is you don’t download or own them, but for £8 you can listen to as much music as you like. The only problem? It doesn’t work on mobiles. Yet. So you’ll have to use a desktop PC.
6. Mix it up!
Click the Mix Me button and Nokia’s store will recommend similar songs. Use it with a subscription to the streaming service and it’s like having your own personalised radio station!
