The Finns mightn’t be famed for their fiery snake hips, but we’re certainly body-poppin’ at the news that Nokia has unleashed an official Internet Radio service.

The new sliver of software is a free download available on N95, N95 8GB, N82 and the veteran N91 (no N81 support though?!), plus the big N has confirmed its Internet Radio service will be built into upcoming Series 60 3rd edition handsets.

The first proper alternative to Spodtronic, we’ve just downloaded Nokia Internet Radio onto N95 and it’s already showing signs of being a top class contender for the throne of online mobile music king. The interface is simple, smart and fast, and you’ve got music and broadcasts on tap from around the globe with a few clicks of the keypad - we’ve been mucking about with it on our Wi-Fi network and it flying, but we’ll be giving it the full workout in our review early next week, giving it the 3G treatment too so stay tuned for the verdict.
