You’ve got the most versatile radio in the world in your pocket – here’s how to make the most of it. Squeeze Nokia’s Internet Radio app to get the very best experience possible.
Is it free?
Apart from the data tariff needed to receive radio, yep!
Sold! How do I do it?
Step 1: Explore new sounds!
Yes, there are some familiar stations like Radio Caroline listed in Nokia’s radio directory, but there are also some wonderful ones you won’t have heard of too. Browse the stations on offer by genre under ‘Radio Directory’ on the main menu and you’ll soon find something to delight your eardrums.
Step 2: Save your favourites
Found a station you like? Tap ‘Options’ and ‘Add to favourites’, then you’ll be able to find it under ‘Favouties’ on the main menu without searching for it again.
Step 3: Ask for access
If you’re planning to use Internet Radio at home, and have a wireless network, set the app to ask which connection to use whenever it starts up under ‘Options’, ‘Settings’ and ‘Default access point’. It’ll mean an extra button press each time you fire it up, but will also let you choose to use Wi-Fi when at home, instantly allowing better quality reception.
Step 4: Drop it down a peg
Having trouble listening through a mobile internet connection? Head into the ‘Settings’ menu and change the quality of the feed for your GPRS or 3G connection. The lower the quality the less data your phone will have to receive, so the more reliable the connection should be.
