A tidy little app to arrange your texts in a conversation, rather than date order. Use it well and you can keep an eye on your conversations, avoid repetition and tidy up your texts.

Judgement time…

Text re-arrangers are popping up all over the place these days. This little app is the latest take on tidying up the texts on your handset, and it’s an admirable attempt.

Install it and you’ll find a graphically sparse, but incredibly speedy execution that works well if all you want to do is group texts together. In truth, though, this does little more than bundle your messages into neat piles.

Sure, you can sort by the date and time a conversation was last updated, or alphabetically, but that’s as advanced as it gets. The neatest addition is ThreadSMS’s ability to send FlashSMS messages, which will appear on the recipient’s screen already opened, with the option for them to save to an inbox. Unfortunately, to get that function to work, you’ll need to buy an extra bit of software, and frankly, the outlay just isn’t warranted.

What we have here then, is an app that isn’t particularly advanced, boasts no features to distinguish it from its rivals, and even lacks graphical sheen. In short, with free options like Nokia’s own Conversation, available with more features and better execution, it’s simply not worth the money.
