N810 gets a Xmas present!

Nokia has rolled out the first official update of OS2008 for its Internet tablets, killing a load of bugs and adding some tasty new features in the process.

Xmas is all about giving and Nokia hasn’t forgotten its little N800 and N810 tablet buddies this yule. This is more of a stocking full of mini-treats rather than the biggest present you’ve ever received however. Aside form bug fixes, chocolate-coin like treats include the ability to use more accurate finger gestures to manipulate apps, whilst chat now has support for avatars and instant messaging through SIP. You can also select smileys with fingers now, rather than needing the stylus. Contacts also gets a dustdown but the change is too boring to actually report.

The point of all this is how much Nokia is focussing on finger-based interaction (rather than Stylus based). Could this be a glimpse of the future from the Nok?
