N95 8GB gets update...and full YouTube access!

Listen up, N95 8GB owners! Nokia has just released a major firmware update - and it means you can now get to slap your peepers on the entire YouTube video library.

How? Well, one of the major features of the update is a tweaked S60 browser that integrates Adobe Flash Lite 3, the format required to view embedded YouTube clips. Basically, this means the N95 8GB is the first pocket-sized mobile able to display FLV movies (Nokia’s E90 is one not-so-compact handset that can already do it).

So a big high five to Nokia for doing that. It’d be pretty cool if you could control videos using the dedicated multimedia buttons on the phone too, but hey, you can’t have it all.

The update also boosts the N95 8GB’s speed, adds support for widgets, and squishes a number of troublesome bugs to boot. There’s a nice summary of everything on All About Symbian, and you can grab the update for your phone by using the Nokia Software Update app.
