As Friday rolls around once more, it’s time for us to don our wetsuit and dive deep into the blogosphere in search of shiny Nokia news-pearls. Which we then present to you for your delight and delectation, or something. Anyhow, read on for this week’s most edifying blog-bits…

Silence your Nok with a mere flip

This is a really innovative app that Vaibhav over at The Symbian Blog has discovered. Basically, it uses your Nokia’s accelerometer to add some S60 Touch-style ringer mute control to the phone. Want to silence an incoming call? Simply flip the phone over. It’s genius – but you’ll need an N95, N95 8GB or N82 for it to work.

Gorillapod for the N82

Mark over at The Nokia Blog teams up the so-simple-it’s-brilliant Gorillapod portable tripod with the N82. The Gorillapod can be attached to pretty much anything in order to keep your camera steady, but this is the first time we’ve seen it used with a phone. Click through to see some sample images.

EQO instant messaging goes S60

EQO is one of the better IM apps out there, and rejoice, for it’s now on Symbian! The lovely Darla Mack has got some info on the beta version, which is available to download and works on a ton of Nokia handsets.

More black N82 evidence?

As news about a forthcoming colour variant of the N82 (possibly an N82 8GB) gathers apace, Symbian Freak has found some more photos of world’s tastiest camera phone clad in a natty black garb. Is it real? Is it fake? We don’t have the foggiest, but it does look pretty darn nifty to us.
