With the weekend edging ever closer, it’s time for us to scour the web-waves in search of news-laden blog galleons to plunder. In other words, we’ve gone all over the Internet and found some of this week’s top Nokia-related news stories, so you don’t have to. Enjoy!

Where mobiles go when they die

The New York Times makes its BftB debut with this intriguing, edifying story about the recycling of dead mobile phone. Did you know that they’re the most valuable form of “e-waste” around, despite being worth only a dollar a pop? Well, you do now!

Bionic eyes: a reality soon?

Well, not quite, but Symbian Freak has got a story about micro-projectors being stuffed into contact lenses, an arrangement that could eventually result in mobile phone displays being projected directly into your eye. Think of Arnie’s heads-up display from The Terminator, except with caller ID instead of targeting data.

N95 now coming in pink

Girls love pink gadgets, apparently, so Nokia has brought yet another colour variation to the N95 handset. We’re not sure that this plum-tinged version will really take off, but it’s apparently the real deal and Into Mobile have loads of photos for you (or er, your better half) to drool over.

N73 gets a speed-boost

We missed this one when it happened, but All About Symbian alerted us to the fact that Nokia has released an update for the N73. This apparently gives general operating speeds a big jolt, and some think it improves camera performance in night mode too.
