The Nok has donned its haute couture ensemble once again and taken to the catwalk with an all-new fashion phone in tow: the 7900 Crystal Prism.
Once again deciding that diamonds are a phone-user’s best friend, the 7900 sports angular keys and lines sharp enough to slice off your fingertips (don’t worry, not actually true). The aluminium back cover shows off an etched design from top Gallic creative type Frédérique Daubal. Who we’d already heard of, and didn’t have to look up on Wikipedia this morning. Ahem.
On the techie front the highlights are undoubtedly the OLED screen and the 1GB of built-in memory, but 3G, a music player and a 2-megapixel camera add to the fun. Oh, and the buttons can be backlit in one of 49 different colours.
With rather less fanfare, Nokia also unveiled a couple more handsets today. The 2600 Classic offers customisable faceplates, FM radio and VGA camera while the 1209 comes with a built-in torch and cost-tracker for pre-paid calls. As you might have guessed, these are both coming in at the lower end of the market.
