DivX on your phone! Hooray!
What’s the point?
Take your high-quality movies with you, and watch them on your phone, without wasting precious space on that memory card!
Is it free?
Absolutely
Sold! How do I do it?
Step 1: Dig up DivX
There’s a great DivX player available for Symbian phones, but it’s tricky to find on the official DivX website. Instead, grab it here and install it on your mobile.
Step 2: Load up on movies
Before you can enjoy DivX films on your phone you’ll need to get them on there. Transfer them to your memory card using a USB cable. Don’t be tempted to use Bluetooth, as it’ll be too slow, and will send movies as a text message, which your phone will be unable to save properly.
Step 3: Watch away!
Fire up the DivX player and you’ll see your movies listed. Tap them and they’ll start to play. If you want to watch them full screen then just hit ‘Options’ and ‘Full screen’. It couldn’t be simpler. Dive into the ‘Settings’ screen to find an option to open films in full screen every time.
Step 4: Catch up at your convenience
If you leave a movie without watching to the end, the DivX player will even remember where you got to last time and offer to resume a movie where you left off! It’s like having your own personal cinema!
