Fancy taking control of a radio controlled car with your mobile phone? Of course you do – but this isn’t some 007 future tech we’re talking about. It’s real and it’s called ShakerRacer.

Put simply, this app lets you use the N95’s accelerometer to steer and speed up/slow down a radio controlled car: you turn and accelerate simply by tilting the phone. Don’t believe us? Check the YouTube video clip of it in action.

It’s been on the radar for a couple of months now, but the open source app is finally available for download at Symbian Resources. Of course, you can’t just install it and go out and control any RC vehicle nearby – there’s some fiddling required – so you’ll want to peruse the documentation and fire up your soldering iron first.
