Fish out the finest bits of mobile widgetery around, and shovel them straight into your Nokia!
Is it free?
Completely.
Sold! How do I do it?
Step 1:
Download Widsets here. It’s a little piece of software created by Nokia to get widgets onto your mobile. It’ll actually work with any Java-enabled handset, but of course, Nokia’s are the best.
Step 2:
Once you’ve downloaded and installed the Widsets app fire it up. You’ll see there are a handful of widgets already included, but you can add loads more.
Tap into the Library widget on your Widsets homepage. Here you’ll be able to find and install new widgets. We’ve listed our favourites below. You can find them by searching, or just browse through the categories yourself and let us know if you find anything interesting we’ve missed.
* Wikipedia - We’re ashamed to admit we’ve used this to cheat at pub quizzes.
* Flickr - Tell the widget which sort of photo’s you’d like to see by their tag, and it’ll serve up a fresh selection.
* Nokia Store Finder UK - Does exactly what it says on the tin, but genius all the same!
* Comedy Central V1.1 - Never get stuck for a joke to tell in the pub! The Comedy Central widget means you’ll always have your mates in stitches.
* Lonely Planet - Tap into Lonely Planet’s travel blogs on the move. You can tailor which ones it shows, so dive into the settings section if you don’t immediately see travel tips that appeal.
* BBC Ceefax Teletext - Teletext’s on the verge of extinction thanks to digital TV. Keep it alive with this widget, and access live information using its popular numbered pages!
