We’re not huge rugby fans at NokNok. Don’t get us wrong: we understand the rules, and it’s not even that the outfits are a bit clingy, we’ve just never warmed to a game with huge goalposts, odd-shaped balls and a distinct lack of top-notch WAGs.

Still, Real Rugby might just have changed our minds. The animation it packs is incredible, and buttery smooth from the outset.

Even better, the controls are easier than you’d expect, ranging from button-bashing fury as you battle it out in a scrum to tactically timed passes as you make a valiant dash for a try.

If that’s not enough to convince you Real Rugby’s worth a try, it also includes proper national teams. We re-enacted Jonny Wilkinson’s World Cup winning kick, for instance, using real teams, and real players.

This is by far the best rugby sim we’ve ever seen. If you’re into the game it’ll be right up your alley. If not, it might just convert you.
