Use your Nokia to scare away rats, mice, oh yeah, and mosquitos too.
What’s it good for?
Ridding your house of infestations, if only while your phone’s battery lasts.
Judgement time…
Anti Mosquito is one of the simplest apps we’ve ever reviewed, but also one of the most inventive. Fire it up and it’ll emit a high-pitched squeal from your Nokia’s speakers. Its makers claim that noise is enough to scare any rodent or airborne pest nearby.
We tried it with the resident mouse at NokNok towers, and it seemed to do the trick (although he’s not particularly publicity hungry at the best of times.)
We also used it to scare away pigeons away from our windows, but with mixed success. Unfortunately, there aren’t many mosquitos in North London, so we can’t say how successful it is at its prime purpose.
For sheer inventiveness, however, Anti Mosquito has to score full marks. Sure it’s simple, but it’s fun, ingenious and you never know, take it camping and it might just keep the mozzies at bay (if only for the life of your phone’s battery).
