Nokia Maps 2.0 out now

Nokia has just made version 2.0 of its Maps application – as found on the new 6210 Navigator handset – available for download.

The updated app includes a shiny new Walk mode for footslogging navigation (the Drive mode is still there, of course), and now provides you with info about nearby buildings and streets. It even shows pathways through parks, and in some newer handsets will display a pointer that shows which way you’re walking. You can even download multimedia guides with photos, videos and audio delivering info on the surrounding area (although you’ll have to pay extra for these).

The app is currently in beta form, so there might be the odd bug or other bit of weirdness (Nokia warns you against using it with Traffic, for starters) but if you want to give it a whirl head over to the Nokia Beta Labs. It should work with all S60 3rd Edition Noks.
