Got a PC that runs Vista? Got the latest edition of Nokia PC Suite? If so, you’ll be able to read and send text messages direct from your computer desktop.
It’s all thanks to a new Windows Vista “gadget” from the Nokia Beta Labs. Dubbed Nokia Text Messenger (yeah, it does what it says on the tin), this tiny app runs on your desktop and talks to your Nok via the PC Suite software. You’ll have to have your handset hooked up to your PC via Bluetooth or USB, of course, but whenever you receive an SMS message you’ll see it pop up on the gadget, in real time.
If that sounds cool, how about this: you can also send your own texts using the gadget. It all goes through your phone, so you’ll still be charged for it, but it’s a heck of a lot easier typing out a detailed message on your PC keyboard than it is on your Nok.
The gadget is free, and can be grabbed here at Symbian Freak (where we spotted the story - ta!). Give it a spin and let us know what you think in the comments section or on the NokNok Forum.
