In a nutshell:

Powder-churning 3D action on your phone, complete with tricks and stunts.

What’s it good for?

Pretending you’re on holiday in the Alps, when you’re really sat at the bus stop in the rain.

Judgement time…

3D racing’s a tricky thing to pull of on a mobile. Jerky frame rates and poor controls conspire to ruin the experience and waste your money.

Thankfully, that’s not the case here. Massive Snowboarding 3D comes as close as we’ve seen to mastering 3D racing on a mobile, letting you career down hillsides flipping your board, jumping onto rails and spinning your way onto the hi-score table, all without reverting to jerk-o-vision.

It’s a masterpiece of game creation, especially considering the other visual effects on show. There’s screen blurring and snow effects here too, as well as all the 3D deliciousness.

So it looks good enough to make you book a trip in the snow, but is it any fun?

Thankfully, yes. Challenges and targets give you an aim for each downward run, and it’s surprisingly addictive.

Even better, later levels will let you capture your runs to show off later. Or to reference when you hit the slopes for real.
