It’s been another busy seven days in the blogosphere, so without further ado we bring you the tippiest, toppiest Nok-related news morsels from the week that was…

Five things S60 could learn from S40

The Guru Ricky Cadden doesn’t waste any time when it comes to soaking up Nokia info. After spending some time reviewing the S40-totin’ 7900 Prism, he’s come up with five killer features S60 should have, but doesn’t. With the two operating systems getting closer in style and usability, surely it makes sense to let one ‘borrow’ from the other. Check out Ricky’s findings.

The future of Nokia Maps

Nokia Maps 2.0 is on its way, and All About Symbian has some straight-from-the-horse’s-mouth new info on it, courtesy of the team behind the product. So what’s in store for Maps? Take a look and find out.

Nokia Location Tagger updated

We’ve been having some fun with Nokia Beta Labs’ Location Tagger app, which automatically adds super-precise location data to photos taken with your GPS-toting phone. Well, the boys at the Labs have jazzed it up even further, squashing a battery-draining bug, improving usability and adding a “Show on map” feature that’ll display your shot locations on Nokia Maps. Download it from the link above, shutterbugs.

ShakeSMS – shake your phone to open your texts!

The tireless folks at Symbian Freak have managed to find yet another useful little software app, designed to make opening your incoming text messages as easy as flicking your wrist. ShakeSMS uses the N82, N95 or N95 8GB’s accelerometer to access the message, so when an SMS comes in, you simply shake the phone once to read it, then shake it once more to return to the idle screen. There’s a download link in the story if you fancy giving it a whirl yourself.

S60 feature pack 2 – screenshots galore (and lots of Russian words)

There’s a new version of S60 incoming, and The N95 Blog pointed us towards Mobile Review, a Russian mobile phone site where you can ogle tons and tons of screenshots. You’ll find an in-depth rundown of new features and functionality there too, but unless you’re au fait with Russian it’s going to be pretty difficult to understand. Actually it’s going to be impossible to understand. But check out the lovely pictures anyway!
