Rumour has it the N95 is about to get handed a proper stonking new slice of firmware adding Widget and Flash Lite 3 support.

Yep, according to the newshounds over at Symbian Freak, the original N95 will soon be running two cutting edge technologies: Flash Lite 3 means full support for YouTube and other web-based video – always useful – while Widget (aka Web Run-Time) slaps full-on web widgets on the phone. We’re not talking WidSets here, nice as that is – these are proper third-party apps that automatically update themselves with info sucked up from your phone’s Internet connection.

The update will fix some bugs and improve general performance as well, and the report reckons it’s hitting the usual outlets in the next few days. We’ll keep you posted.
