New E52 handset or just a very good fake?

Nokia’s E-Series handsets have garnered a strong rep among the City Boys as no-nonsense business blowers, none more so than the E51. This Symbian Series 60 candybar is a firm favourite here at NokNok, and not just because of its clean design lines and well built metallic plate slimline physique. It’s also festooned with shortcuts galore to access your push email and calendar and has all the latest connections: 3.6Mbps flavoured HSDPA and built-in Wi-Fi.

But just as we’ve fallen for the E51, the guys over at Just Another Mobile Phone Blog has got its mitts on a photo of what is rumoured to be its successor, the E52. Or have they? It’s been labelled as phoney but if it is then someone has done an immense job of faking it. The picture shows the ‘E52’ as a rather handsome slider that marries the E65’s design with the big bold buttons of the more mainstream and ultra popular 6270 skater.

With no info on specs, we can only guess what features will appear on the follow-up, considering the E51 is already well loaded. 7.2Mbps HSDPA download speeds or an improved 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus perhaps? Either way, looking at this snap, we hope this ‘E52’ isn’t a fraud and that we’ll be seeing it very soon. Fingers crossed.
