Eco friendly Nokia wallpaper uses squirrel rage to save the planet

A staggering two-thirds of the energy guzzled up by mobile phones is caused by us leaving our naughty little chargers plugged in. So all we need to do to stop the eco rot is remember to unplug or switch off after charging. What better way of remembering than being nagged by a mildly miffed digital squirrel?

With this in mind, MoCarbon has come up with a range of hilariously animated screen-savers.

The simple but clever Flash software can be downloaded from MoCarbon’s site onto almost any Nokia phone and monitor its battery and charger. In one, a cute squirrel appears on screen to remind you when you need juice, so you don’t charge unnecessarily, and when you’re juiced up. If you forget to unplug, your furry on-screen friend gives you a gentle nudge. The longer you leave it though, the more agitated he gets, eventually bunching his paw into a little fist.

There are four wallpapers to choose from – the squirrel, an octopus, a little boy, a grizzly bear and a guru – and more on the way.

That is so true, the amount of energy wasted by leaving our chargers plugged in is astonishing. Everyone needs to do their part to start and conserve energy. Great job MoCarnon!
