Tasty new sliders incoming

Out of the blue, the big Nok rolled out three new blowers this morning, giving us a taste of things to come. Two sliders are joined by a flip model and all are painted with a lush finish to keep us tickled.

Our favourite (without touching any of them) is the 6600 slide. It sports a 3.2-megapixel snapper backed up with autofocus and double flash and comes pre-loaded with Nokia maps (though GPS is an optional extra). It’s the smallest slider Nokia’s ever made and will keep going for a full two weeks on standby. No 3G on board though.

It’s joined by the equally dinky 3600 slide which packs a bit more functionality including TV-out for video and picture sharing and Quadband for global roaming. Like the 6600, it’ll take microSD 4GB cards for expandability.

Also announced today is the 6600 fold which on first look is a tad dull for our liking, but it does feature a dash of touchability - double tap the outside screen to control a bunch of different functions including showing the external display, snooze the alarm and silencing or rejecting an incoming call. There’ll be plenty more of that kind of action this year we reckon!
