Opera has tweaked its itsy bitsy browser and it’s got it running 50 percent faster, all without piling on the pounds.

Not only is the new 4.1 version speeder than its predecessor, its bulging with stacks of new features to make viewing full fat webpages easier on the small screen.

To save you tapping out the full address on the keypad the boffins have saved you a prod or two with automatic URL suggestion. Webpages can now be saved for offline viewing, so you could store up a load of info to browse through later. There’s also no need to wait until you get home to post images of your friends’ indiscretions as it now supports files uploads too.

In order to keep things snappy, Opera does the heavy lifting at the server side so the pages have been suitably slimmed down by the time they reach you keeping the browser lean and clean.

Opera Mini is free, so hop on over to www.operamini.com and get downloading.
