N-Gage games will be able to move handsets

If you’re worried about all your hard earned N-Gage content being locked to your current handset, fear not - you’ll soon be able to take your games with you when you upgrade.

At the moment, if you’ve got gazoodles of games on your Nok, when you upgrade you can’t move that content over to your shiny new handset. This is obviously a bad thing, and might make people think twice about upgrading if they’re going to lose all their favourite time fillers in the process.

The copy protection locks each game to a specific handset to stop sneaky rascals sharing downloads with their mates. This isn’t going to change, but the good news is that Nokia is working on a solution that will let you easily move your N-Gage content to a new handset when you upgrade.

A post on the N-Gage blog states:

“We acknowledge our customers’ concerns and have been working on a solution that would allow people to transfer purchased N-Gage games to a new Nokia device. We are working with our Nokia Care Centers with an intermediate solution to enable the licensed transfers of games until a final solution is ready to be deployed.”

So there you have it, soon you’ll be able to move your games around without any problems. Now, will you be able to transfer over your Tetris high scores too?
