Windows Live client rollout continues

Microsoft’s messaging app for S60 customers is now available in seven more countries, including the US.

Windows Live addicts in Hungary, Iceland, India, Israel, Poland, Romania and the US can now get their mitts on the software. You can find a run down of the countries that are allowed to play on Nokia’s site or just check to see if WinLive is in the Download folder on your Nok.

Once you’ve got the software safely installed on your Nok you can chat away with your instant message buddies without having to go anywhere near a PC. The app will also let you dig into your Windows Live contacts list and integrate your Hotmail with the email app on your handset.

One thing to watch out for, though, is that you have to pay for using the app on a monthly basis. Initially you can try the service for free, but when you’re coming to the end of your trial you’ll be sent an SMS asking if you want to subscribe. If you do, then it will cost you somewhere around two Euros a month, which seems pretty steep considering IM is pretty much free everywhere else. If you don’t cough up any dough you can still use the contacts and email functions, but the IM part will stop working.
