An aptly-named app that delivers a deluge of simulated background noises to your Nok.
What’s it good for?
Fooling friends into thinking you’re somewhere you’re not.
Judgement time...
FakeSounds is one of the simplest pieces of software we’ve reviewed here on NokNok - and quite possibly the silliest (although Anti Mosquito certainly comes close). It lets you play a selection of fake background sounds (funny, that) on your Nokia, with the idea that you can fool the person on the other end into thinking you’re somewhere that you’re not. Er, hilarious!
Among the sounds on offer are rain, cars, police sirens, a sports stadium, a frying pan (which sounds pretty much the same as the rain one) and a cow mooing, but while they’re all reasonably recognisable, they’re not likely to fool anyone with an ounce of common sense. So what’s the point?
We suppose you could get a bit of fun out of FakeSounds, and it is very cheap, but it’s hardly what we’d called a killer app. One for practical jokers, perhaps.
