There’s some new firmware available for the N78. Now that might not sound like particularly earth-shattering news, but the way it’s being delivered to phones IS – this is Nokia’s first over-the-air update.
That means N78 users don’t have to fuss about with the Nokia Updater Software. All they need to do is head into their phone’s Device Manager, hit “Check for updates” and follow some on-screen prompts. In no time the 2MB update will be wending its way to the phone via 3G or Wi-Fi. Pretty slick compared to the usual rigmarole you have to go through to stick a new firmware in your blower.
According to the first reports from N78 users, the update takes a matter of minutes to install and doesn’t touch any of the settings or files on your phone. If you’re wondering what the update does, apparently it improves Bluetooth and music player stability, optimises the camera settings and tweaks the sensitivity of the Naviscroll.
