How to find anything on your Nok in seconds

Our Noks are so packed with contacts, applications, games and documents that locating one particular thing can prove a tricky task - not as bad as finding a needle in a haystack, perhaps, but a headache nonetheless. So, what are the best ways to scour your Nok?

1. Nokia Search

Nokia’s own search tool is very nifty indeed, and it comes pre-installed on a lot of handsets. If it’s not on yours, it can be downloaded here. Just open it up from the home screen or Applications menu, and you can then use the “My content” search to locate music, contacts, calendar entries, email and SMS messages, images, videos, applications and more.

2. T9 Nav

A beta app we’ve just discovered, T9 Nav uses the tech behind predictive text to find almost anything on your phone within three button presses. The app constantly runs in the background, and when you type in a number it takes the relevant letters and provides a quick link to anything corresponding. So if you wanted to find a dentist appointment in your calendar, typing the numbers to spell “DEN” - 336 - would find it almost instantly. You can download it for free here.
