Less than a month after it made its first debut in Beta Labs, the shiny new Map Loader 2.0 has been given permission to step out into the big wide world on its own. Now you can buy navigation and city guides straight from your PC before shuffling them over onto your Nok ready for use in the field.
Despite its speedy run through Beta Labs, it’s been through some tough testing. Since its initial debut over 64 Vista shaped holes have been patched, so it should be much more stable on running on Microsoft’s current OS.
Support for S40 devices has been added, so they’re no longer left out in the cold. It should be simpler to setup now as additional drivers are included in the installation package, so you don’t need PC Suite already in place anymore to get it going.
It doesn’t all end there though - there are more developments for Map Loader further down the line. The shop functions will be streamlined to make them easier to use and there’ll be a history function too to make it easier to manage the maps on your handset. Mac support has also been promised, so everyone will be able to play too.
