There’s no official word from Nok about the N85 yet, but a user agent profile detailing its spec has tipped up on the Nokia website, so at least we know what’s coming. The document reveals some clues about what’s going to be inside so we’ve got a better idea of what it’ll be capable of when it finally hits.
The fact that Nokia has published the user agent profile on its site means that it must be very close to releasing the N85. By delving into the code (it’s meant to be read by computers) it seems that the N85 will be a mid-level Nseries handset, and unfortunately not the video monster we’d hoped for.
However it’s still got a pretty good spec, with all the connections you’d expect like GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, Wi-Fi and HSDPA but there’s no mention of GPS which seems to go against Nokia’s current satnav push. The camera is a reasonable, if not earth shattering, 3.2 megapixel and it’ll have the standard QVGA 240x320 res screen.
If you fancy taking a squizz at the file yourself (geek alert - there’s lots of odd stuff in there) you’ll find it here: http://nds1.nds.nokia.com/uaprof/NN85-1r100.xml
