Google has just rolled out a new version of Google Maps for Symbian devices and the latest 2.2 update now lets you plan journeys on public transport as well as get driving directions. Over 50 cities are supported, so if you fancy ditching the car, let Google maps show you how to get there instead.
The new feature, called Transit, taps into public transport timetables in certain areas, so you can plan your trip without having to do all the calculations yourself. It can even do clever things like work out what time your last train back is and let you know when you need to leave to make it.
You can find out which cities are covered by hopping over to the Google Transit page and having a look. As you’d expect, it’s mostly US cities at the moment - only the South East is currently covered in the UK. To grab the latest version of Google Maps, point your mobile browser at google.com/gmm.
