Two N85 versions on the way - thanks FCC

More details about Nokia’s forthcoming N85 have come to light through documents submitted to the FCC in the US. Although most of the docs are locked down until November, they do reveal that there’ll be at least two flavours available - a 3G version and a 2.5G model.

Any radio devices that go on sale in the US must be submitted to the FCC for approval. The fact that the N85 is undergoing the process now could signal Nokia is ramping up for launch.

The documents show that there’ll be a 2.5G quadband GSM 850/900/1800/1900 version and also a 3G HSDPA 7 band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA Band I/II(1900)/VIII model. Both flavours will come packing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an FM transmitter.

Tying this info in with the N85 specification file Nokia released last month and it’s shaping up to be quite a nifty little handset.
