Stream Last.fm tracks to your Nok with Mobbler

Mobbler, an S60 client for the Last.fm music recommendation service, has been updated and it now supports audio streaming, so you can listen to tracks directly on your handset. Now you can play along with Windows Mobile and iPhone users and tap into new music on the go.

Last.fm works by learning which tracks you like listening to, so it can recommend similar ones. The process of telling Last.fm what you’re listening to is called scrobbling (yes, it’s a very silly word). Any tracks you listen to are uploaded to your profile and used as a basis for recommendations.

With Mobbler loaded up, it’ll not only scrobble what you’re listening to on your phone and send it up to your Last.fm profile but you can also tap into streamed radio stations that are created on the fly based on your listening habits.

The interface could do with a little bit of work, but if you can see past that, then it’s a handy way to listen to new music on your Nok, either over Wi-Fi or 3G. To grab a copy, head over to the Mobbler download page.
