Nokia Chat updated - now less of a power drain

Nokia has updated its location sensing text talker app, fixing a few bugs here and there and reducing its appetite for battery power in the process. Now you can keep up with your nearby mates without having to constantly keep one eye on the power meter and it should be much more stable too.

Launched last month, Nokia Chat takes your standard instant messaging features, but adds in location awareness so you can share where you are with your buddy list.

In addition to stability and power improvements, you can now open links in chat conversations directly - there’s no need to cut and paste them anymore. Users with an E90 should also see a significant improvement with its performance on that device specially.

The updated app is available over at Beta Labs now. You can also suggest feature improvements you’d like to see in the next release on the Beta Labs blog.
