Remember the story about the iPhone software update prompting Nokia to redesign the S60 calculator app? Well, it’s been through its intensive internal evaluation process and it’s now available for everyone to have a play through Beta Labs.

Rather than write a new adder upper from scratch, Nokia took the more advanced S40 calculator and updated it a bit for S60 so it can now perform advanced scientific functions as well as just simple arithmetic.

The release notes state that it currently only supports QVGA (240x320 pixel) displays - if you try and run in on anything else then it’ll probably just complain before crashing. It’s been tested successfully on many S60 3rd Edition, FP1 and FP2 devices, so if you want to give your sums a makeover head on over to Beta Labs and grab a copy.
