If you're looking for a new browser for your Nok, you're currently spoilt for choice. Not only is Skyfire now available on these shores but Opera has just pushed out a new release of Opera Mini.

The new 4.2 version promises speed improvements - up to 30 percent for US users thanks to some new servers in States. This also means that users elsewhere will also benefit as there's less load on the existing servers now to crunch down the pages before they're sent to your handset.

In addition to speeding up browsing, compressing the data before it's sent to your phone also means reduced data costs - useful if you're not on an all you can eat data plan.

Other improvements include more skins so you can customise the look and feel and better handling of streaming protocols so more phones should be able to dip into mobile video.
