So, the update shouldn't affect tracking - but..... you need to be sure that's the right interpretation of tracking. Is it? In other words, if you're running a GPS app, your phone will be monitoring your location (as best it can, given view of sats etc) So as far as I can work out, GPS tracking will only be on if you’re running a GPS app. It doesn’t have to be Nokia Maps, it could be Gmaps, Sports Tracker, FriendView or Nokia viNe – anything that requires GPS, basically. I have one of the first N95-1′s still running the original firmware. I have tracking on my GPS even when not using the network. Will the new firmware remove the tracking feature? I’ve heard that upgrading will remove tracking but can’t seem to determine if it’s upgrades to the firmware or to the GPS app. specifically. I have upgraded Nokia Maps and still have the tracking, which is really important to me for several reasons.
