Google has just launched the latest S60 version of Google Maps for mobile, and praise be: that means you can now use Street View on your Nok!

For those of you unfamiliar with the feature, Street View allows you to "zoom" into a map and access photos of locations within any covered areas. The idea is that it helps you find a location you're searching for by giving you more info than just a dot on a map. The photos are panoramic, so you can rotate your view 360 degrees within the image.

Street View isn't yet available everywhere. The UK isn't covered, but thousands of locations in the US, France, Spain, Japan, New Zealand and Australia are available for viewing.

Version 2.3 of Google Maps for mobile also adds new features in the form of walking directions (driving and public transport directions were in the previous version), traffic alerts where available, and user reviews of businesses and services. You can download it for free by visiting google.com/gmm.
