Remember Step Counter, the clever accelerometer-powered pedometer application launched back in May 2008? Well, Nokia Beta Labs has just released the first proper update, having taken into account user comments.

Firstly, the app now works with the N95, N95 8GB, N82, N96, N93i, 6210, N85 and N79. Secondly, power management has been tweaked and improved so that the app doesn't drain your phone's battery dry too quickly.

The app also supports sound notifications now, as well as the ability to export your step data as a CSV file. What's that, you ask - well, it a comma separated values file, which can be used to make tables.

You can grab the new version from Beta Labs. My, they have been busy this week.
